Blurb - Create, Publish, Share and Market!

Thinking of a good business this year 2008? Fancy to become a book seller, or write a books and sell it online? Why not you visit blurb and see if you are interested to that world of books. Blurb is so popular and enormous in America so for that matter they created an online blurb to give chance to other people who had a passion for a book writer. I think hubby would be really interested on this website since it has been his long dream to write a book and perhaps publish it through blurb.

Blurb, the creative book publishing service, today announced the international launch of its ‘Set Your Price’ program, which allows Blurb users to create and sell books for profit. Based on the enormous popularity of this program in the U.S. – and Blurb’s international growth – the program is now available worldwide. Now everyone can use Blurb to quickly and affordably create, publish, share, market, and sell professional quality books, and keep 100% of the profits.

Since expanding its global reach to include printing and fulfillment out of a central European, international sales now account for more than 20% of Blurb’s revenue. This news is expected to further boost inspiration from the UK who currently lead the professional Photobook market in Europe, followed by France, Spain and Italy, and then Germany . Expanding Set Your Price internationally is another example of Blurb’s commitment to growing its international markets.

Using Blurb’s Set Your Price program, Blurb users can market and sell books through the Blurb Bookstore, and drive sales by linking books to a personal Web site or blog. There is neither inventory to manage nor cash outlay for print production as each book is printed on demand. Users can track book sales and profits using real-time reporting, and Blurb sends the user a check each month as they reach a minimum threshold equivalent to $25 USD. There are no enrollment fees and it takes two minutes to sign up.

“Our international customers made Blurb a global company overnight when we launched in May 2006,” said Eileen Gittins, Blurb’s founder and CEO. “With international sales now exceeding 20% of our business, Blurb looks to accelerate that growth by enabling all of our international customers to set a retail price for their books and keep 100% of the markup. This model has proven hugely popular in the U.S. where the average bookmaker earns between $8-10 USD on each book they sell for a profit.”

To create and publish a Blurb book, users start by downloading Blurb BookSmart™ software from the Blurb Web site. Blurb’s BookSmart software is free, runs on a Mac or PC, and offers a wide variety of book layouts created by professional book designers. The software enables anyone to affordably make, share, market, and sell beautiful, bookstore-quality books.
